Scott Kelby’s Worldwide Photowalk 2008

Last Saturday I participated in Scott Kelby’s Worldwide Photowalk. It was great fun and I really enjoyed being with other photographers and seeing them at work/play.
Looking through the photos taken by everyone was amazing – such a variance in our views.
It was mainly a social event, but also promoting Scott’s new Lightroom 2 book.
One of the photographers from each walk group will receive a copy of the book as a prize.
There are ten encouragement awards to be chosen by Scott, these receive a copy of Lightroom 2.
The MAIN PRIZE is thousands of dollars worth of goodies – mmmm….

One of my images has been shortlisted – woo hoo – so I may win the Lightroom book prize.
But, I’m not holding my breath – the competition is too tough!

Winning the main prize – nah, I don’t expect I have a chance in that – over 8,000 photographers took part in the day.
I’m sure the winner will go on to a fabulous career in photography, they will be exceptional to stand out from such a crowd of talent.

Thank you Scott for an excellent experience, I really enjoyed myself and will be back next year.

My best snaps of the day – hope you like them!
The first image in this series is the one that’s been selected and shortlisted for a prize in the Brisbane Group.

Living in Brisbane, we’re spoilt for choice when it comes to places for a weekend retreat. Salt Village is a new Resort community near Kingscliff, a short way south of the Queensland/New South Wales border. A few hours drive on the freeway and we’re in a completely different environment, far removed from our City life.
What do Lifeguards do when they’re finished for the day? Play with those cool toys of course!

We stayed at Peppers Salt Resort. As you can see, it is a fabulous resort. Lots of lazy days by the pool are the order of the day. Our only hiccup was that we didn’t book in to the Restaurant for dinner. Salt Village is a small community and has only a few Restaurants. Room service is available, but the menu is limited compared to the Restaurant.
